Christophe will be having his second Charity Day at St Jean D’angely on Sunday March 11, be sure to join him to support the sick children.

Christophe Pourcel and Monster Energy are gathering at Chateauneuf les Martigues for a charity day to raise money for sick children.

Team CP 377 has partnered up with the OEM UFO for the 2012 season. It is a familiar return for Christophe and Sebastien who have both previously ridden for the italian company. The new UFO gear has been designed to meet and exceed the expectations of the riders, the team, and its sponsors. A new chest protector has been developed specifically for Christophe with a matching graphic to allow seamless integration with the jersey and pants. The look will be undoubtedly great in the Italian fabrication.

UFO a dors et déjà concu des tenues repliqua qui réponde aux attentes des pilotes, du Team et de leurs sponsors. Un nouveau plastron a été aussi developé spécialement pour Christophe avec une déco indentique à son maillot, ce qui lui permettra de s’intégrer à l’ensemble de la tenue. Le lock a n’en pas douté sera de toute beauté à l’Italienne.

“I am very happy that my team and myself have reached an agreement with UFO. Their design and developing staff have done a great job in terms of look and comfort in a very short time. I do not need anything out of the ordinary, just reliable. Most riders want to feel comfortable and look good in their gear, and we get both from UFO. With having previously worked with them, I knew their work and products were top of the line. I was World Champion in their gear in 2006, so it is motivating for me to wear their products again.”

“Je suis très content que mon team et moi même ayons trouvé un accord avec UFO. En très peu de temps, leur designer et leur concepteur ont fait du super boulot au niveau du look et du confort. Je n’ai donc pas d’exigence hors du commun ou irréalisables. Je pense, et c’est normal, qu’un pilote doit se sentir bien et beau dans ses tenues ! Nous porterons Seb et moi des tenues spéciales que UFO mettra au catalogue très rapidement. Je savais qu’ils était efficaces et performants car j’avais déjà travaillé avec eux par le passé. J’ai été champion du Monde sous leurs couleurs, c’est donc motivant pour moi de porter à nouveau leurs tenues.”

In 2012 for Team CLS, the MX1 division becomes Team CP377 Monster Energy Kawasaki Pro Circuit, with Christophe and Sébastien Pourcel as riders and Yann Lozano as manager. During the last few GP’s Christophe recorded excellent results in the MX1 class, including three heat wins in the last three rounds. Christophe continues to train after recovering from a fall in Florida that will keep him from competing this weekend in the Paris Bercy Supercross. Sébastien has resumed training after a season-ending injury and is feeling comfortable and confident on the new KX450F. Both brothers have the winter to prepare for the new season and are very optimistic.

Team CP377 Monster Energy Kawasaki Pro Circuit is made possible by its partners including Shot, who will support the team with gear, Distri Bike and 13 Recyclage. In addition to the entire 2012 MX1 World Championship, the team will compete in a few National and International events with locations and dates to be announced later.

After coming in as a last minute replacement for Steven Frossard at this year’s Motocross of Nations, Christophe Pourcel endured setbacks impossible to overcome for good results. The stage was set for a team France victory in St. Jean D’Angely, with being on home soil and having a strong team on their side, Pourcel’s weekend would not come together for him at first. He would take a distant third in the MX1 qualification race on Saturday, and a disappointing eleventh overall in the first moto on Sunday with having to pull off and exchange goggles after a rock busted out the lens. But his team woud still lead heading into the final moto on Sunday. Going up against both Ryans (Villopoto and Dungey), Pourcel and Gautier Paulin had a challenge ahead of them. Pourcel would oul a decent start and push through to the front, and make an early move on Dungey. With teammate, Paulin, way back after a bad start, it was up to Pourcel to try and carry his team to victory.

Fate would say no. One lap later, Pourcel’s chances were denied as the mousse tube came out of his rear wheel, making it impossible for him to continue in the moto. He rode off the side of the track, dropping the bike in frustration. His race was over, and so was France’s chance at a win on home soil. With only completing two laps of the moto, it is not out of the question to say that Pourcel could have pulled off the win.
