During his visit at the hospital he was able to tour the whole facility, and meet and interact all of the sick children and staff.

Christophe: “It was really good to be able to finally come and visit the hospital here in Martigues and meet everybody. I have enjoyed doing my Charity Days and can’t wait to do more. I am happy to be able to use what I have accomplished in my career to help other people. I also know what it is like to be stuck in a hospital bed and what ever I can do to help make it better for these children, I will do it.”

This weekend was a good test run for Team CP377 as Christophe, Sebastien, and the team made their way to the MX Masters International at Lacapelle-Marival in France. With only six weeks until the opening round of the FIM World Motocross Championship, the team felt it was good preparation to participate in one race before the points start to matter. It also gave fans an opportunity to see Christophe and other top GP riders race as there are not many events here in France.

With a race format of 3 twenty-minute +two laps motos, Christophe and the team knew the day ahead of them was going to be a long one. CP started the day off right by leading the morning practice and carried that momentum into his motos. In moto 1, the #377 got off to a decent start taking the inside gate and coming around the first turn in 3rd. He quickly moved up to the front after a few laps and led the rest of the race. In the 2nd moto his inside gate picked worked, getting the hole shot, CP went on to lead the entire moto. The shadows started to fall on the track during the last moto of the day, but Christophe still managed to pull the hole shot. A great battle unfolded between CP and Soubeyras, passing each other almost every lap. Christophe ended up second, while riding a fun but safe race.

“Le terrain de Lacapelle était parfait, technique avec de profondes ornières, glissant en dernière manche et pour l’équipe ce fut un bon test. Nous avions déjà défini de bons réglages et j’ai pu obtenir le meilleur temps de la séance chrono. J’ai commis une petite erreur au premier départ et je suis sorti 3e au premier virage. Bill était rapide, mais j’ai réussi à le passer après quelques tours pour m’imposer. En seconde manche, j’ai fait le holeshot. Tommy (NDR : Searle) était rapide, pour autant j’ai pu maintenir un écart de 4 secondes entre nous et de nouveau m’imposer. La dernière manche fut plus délicate avec le soleil couchant. Nous avions le soleil dans les yeux et j’ai préféré rouler prudemment. Soubeyras était rapide et nous avons eu une belle bagarre ensemble. Il gagne la manche au final, mais cela n’avait pas vraiment d’importance pour le classement général. Je ne participerai pas à d’autres courses avant le début des GP et nous allons continuer les tests sur différents terrains pour être prêt pour Valkenswaard.”

“The track at Lacapelle was perfect for testing with deep ruts and good dirt. We already had a good set up here with the team, but overall it was a good test for Team CP377. I made a small mistake off the first start and came out of the first corner in third. Bill was fast, but I managed to make the pass after a few laps. In the 2nd moto, I had the hole shot, but Tommy (Searle) was fast. I managed to keep a gap of about 4 seconds through the moto, but he was not giving up. The last moto was a little difficult as the sun started to set. We had the sun in our eyes and shadows on the track, I preferred to ride safely. Soubeyras was fast also and we had a good battle together. He ended up taking the win, but that is not all I came here for. I won’t be participating in anymore races before the start of the GP’s, but we will continue testing on different tracks to be ready for Valkenswaard.”
